Cannot smash this corner any more.
I have tried: adjusting front left down, won't go any further. raising back left up. shimming the back left up just exagerated it across the entire rear edge. halp i need an adult.

So what you can do is, raise A actually.
You might be reading the results wrong, C is actually very high, while D is very low.
So If you raise A, you will lower C.

RatRig V-Core 3: How to Get a Square Frame
This video is for those who struggle getting bed meshed with their RatRig V-Core 3.
Please feel free to jump to the chapter you are interested in.
0:00 Intro
1:05 about the v-core 3 frame and bed leveling
8:26 what to take care of in the building phase
9:17 the right square
10:09 build tips
16:50 adjusting the frame according to your bed mesh
...
wat
Watch the video, it explains everything.
The bed is defined by 3 points.
yes, i've watched that
Well then you know what I mean, if you raise A you will lower C
the key on the graph indicates red is higher
so i was trying to raise C by lowering A
Yes its higher, but A and B will always be flat.
Always.
yes, the mesh tells me that
Yes, so if you raise A, C will will go higher, which means it will flatten out more.
i'll try it
Do it bit by bit.
As if you raisse A too much D will then be blue and fall down.
So do a slight adjustment, and then home Z
Then Z tilt
Then do bed mesh.
Do not skip these 3 steps, Home Z, Z-Tilt, Bed mesh
After each adjustment.
Your quite flat besides that
The X gantry looks straight.
yep, x is great
Try it and let us know the result. You should have a great bed mesh if you just fiddle with A a bit.
and my triangle is spot on.
Then you are golden.
Be ware of bi-metalic if you use the classic rail+aluminum extrusion for X
Its a large machine.
whats that?
So our Rail is steel, and the extrusion it is hooked to is aluminum
When you heat up the bed, you might see X gantry bow.
This is my IDEX bed, which is the same width as the 500:
ah shit... i forgot to heat the bed...
well on a cold bed it is improved to .369
i'll give it another tap and heat it up for the next one.
thats a bit worse
You still need to raise A
The thing is
When you do that, and tighten it back
It can go back a bit when you screw it up
So you either hold it really tight, or you clamp it somehow before screwint it up.
But keep at it, just a bit and you'll get there.
i usually leave one screw in fingertight as i adjust it
Take it slowly, its a long process saddly, because you have to wait for the bed mesh.
When you get it as flat as possible you can patch it up further with Kapton tape.
nope, still getting worse.
.509. same shape
Cold bed for now I hope?
Show me the bed but in full
Like my image is.
and yes, bed is cold
Then impossible, is it an enclosed one? How are you lifting that corner?
it is not enclosed.
i have tried raising the front corner by unscrewing the corner brace, and loosening the idler mounting screws. i've tried forcing it up with my shoulder, and also striking it from below with a malet (after protecting the linear rail first)
You have to mark it somehow
And then see if you are actually pushing it up.
You can even push the lower bracket out if you want
good idea, i'll put wedge in there to move it precisely
I do suggest going with the upper bracket, but again
Try it.
You need to move bit by bit.
so i tried this... when i homed, the bed ignored bltouch, and continued straight up into the head. wtf. completely snapped the front 2 lead screw bearing arms, i hope the gantry isn't bent.
fml... > bltouch span sized blob stuck to nozzle after a filament load.
need to replace the leadscrew constraint arms, hope thats not a bent gantry 😦
😦
Don't worry its a tank of machine
It shouldn't be bent
Just reprint those arms.
The only thing you surely did is bent the x a bit.
That can be fixed with a slight push downwards or you can disassble the x and then put a lot of books and weight on a flat surface, and then reasemble
So if you push it a bit in the middle it should be okey, I've had multiple bed crashes, and even my first homing was that 2 of my front arms broke.
thanks! new arms are printing now
after installing the new arms, and giving left X span 2 taps in the middle. Ieft side of X looks much improved. will try to drop right side next.
but, am pretty close to good enough. might call this fixed soon.
down to .21, i suspect that is good enough. thanks for the help!
No worries. Cheers
