Cleaning an old stained leather jacket??
Hey y'all, quick question for anyone who has experience cleaning leather
I thrifted a brown leather bomber that's probably older than me, it's cool but it's got a bunch of little stain spots and it smelled like someone's chainsmoker uncle. I got 90% the smell out but it's still looking a little raggedy. Any advice for cleaning it up? Saddle soap? I used to work in dry cleaning, but we didn't mess with leather so this is new territory for me

I just had a similar cleaning effort on a pair of shoes, and yeah saddle soap got most of the water spots out and a buffing of mink oil got them looking like brand new

Hell yeah those look great
Does mink oil smell like anything or is it pretty neutral?
I think it's pretty neutral, I used a pretty small amount and it definitely wasn't anything unpleasant
Just remember to keep the jacket in open air so the oil can seep in and the jacketās surface isnāt saturated. Donāt just chuck it in the closet where it may stay damp and the oil may turn rancid.
Heard, yeah I hung it outside already to get the smoke smell out, should be no problem
Thanks for the advice boys š
