Btw the Berg & Berg pants just need the waist taken in (and hem ofc which is great
Which only matters to me sorry lol
I think the raincoat is too big tbh. Says it's size 40R
I think it's too big, there's a lot of excess fabric hanging around your torso and at the bottom hem
Kind of reminds me of a vintage burberry trench I found at a vintage market. I was so estastic because the price was amazing, but it was too big sadly 😦
looks way too big. can your hands even reach the bottom of the pockets?
Ok there's one sz 36
Thoughts on the color and design?
Tbh I may want a black one more that I could prob find at a thrift (like a London fog one) but idk
When the guy comes back he'll tell me a price, but I have a feeling it'll be quite cheap (like a new old stock price)
$125 incl. tailoring
Cheaper at a thrift. Would be $20-30 for a coat plus at least $20 for tailoring most likely
Real cool coat
I passed but I might get it in the future
Honestly the 36 still looks too big
What looks too big out of curiosity?
sleeve ends at your fingertips, body ends almost at your feet
Yah but that could be fixed thru alterations right?
it's a raincoat, better to buy one that fits off the rack
Thank you! Gonna keep an eye out for one in my size that I like at the thrifts or get the MHL one on sale in a yr or two
I’m in a similar position but I bought it and haven’t really regretted it
It fit just enough to work
Happy that you did!! Sometimes I wish I bought it. My mind imagines that it would have fit decently, in retrospect lol
secondhand trench coats are out there in diff. sizes (I think even Burberry cuz I've seen them at thrifts just not in my size)
Just a matter of how long you're willing to wait to find one in terms of choosing to get an imperfect size or wait for a more perfect one
The fact that a size 36 doesn't fit for me is tough but I think I remember a 36 that actually fit me at a thrift but I didn't like for other reasons
Sorry to hear that Benji, finding some vintages pieces can be tough
I imagine that NYC has lots of great vintage spots though, if you have lots of time to check different spots you could probably find something
Yess I'm thinking I'll look for a vintage long wool coat before I go back upstate.
A rain layer is less important than a long wool coat both in terms of fashion and utility imo. Esp. the warmer trench coats feel a bit superfluous tho they are an interesting aesthetic choice. For summer a breathable trench coat/Mac would be useful for the rain
just carry an umbrella and wear wtv you want
