Question about pricing.

Hi, I have a question about hosting a backend on Railway. I'm considering the two pricing plans: the free plan and the $20/month plan. My main question is: What are the key differences between the two plans? I understand that the main difference is the server's processing power. Is that correct? Does the pricing plan affect the elasticity of the server's resource consumption based on demand? In other words, will the server automatically scale up or down its resource usage depending on the traffic my backend receives, regardless of which pricing plan I choose?. Another question, if i choose $20/month plan, its only 20$/month or it scales from 20usd depending on the consumption base on demand? I appreciate your clarification on this matter. Thank you,
Solution:
First of all, railway doesn't have a free pan per say. There's a trial but that's just that - to try how things work on railway. The hobby plan is $5 month. You also get those $5 in usage, so if let's say your app only consumes resources for $3 - it's totally covered. If the app needs more resources it will "scale up" and that extra usage will be added on top of that $5. The pro plan ($20 one) is less desirable for small apps as it doesn't include any usage. You pay $20 just for the features and any usage is billed on top of that....

You pay $20 just for the features and any usage is billed on top of that. As an example I'll give you one of my projects. It currently uses around $2.50 in resources and is totally covered by the hobby plan, and my account bill totals to $5. If I was running it on a Pro plan I'd have access to Pro features like regions, which is nice, but the bill would be $22.50 total. The processing power isn't really affected by the active plan, it has different limits. You can find the exact numbers on the pricing page. It's not like an app would be slowed down by a less preforming hardware or something, but on hobby plan it just has lower limits (like 8GB RAM/ vCPU max. per service on hobby vs 32 on pro). Hope it helps!
