for TS/SCI, the FBI absolutely 100% will interview previous roommates, boyfriends/girlfriends, professors, employers, friends, enemies, etc. as part of the SSBI. The SSBI also includes a polygraph and a deep dive into your finances.
it's also a felony to lie to the FBI, so don't do that
