Uniqlo standard tees and a pair of Chinos from Gap

I've decided that today I'm going to go to Uniqlo and Gap and focus on a few pieces. I don't want to necessarily buy anything today, just do a test fit of some different sizes and see what fits while snapping some photos. A t-shirt or two from Uniqlo would be a good starting point, paired with a pair of caramel chinos from Gap. Anyone have any experience with these items or do you want me to be more specific? All feedback is welcome. I slowly have been reading some guides, but I find myself going back over most of what I've read. Thank you in advance.

uniqlo sells several kinds of t shirts and people's experiences have varied with each shirt (and each year they make them it seems) the 'dry' series is a lightweight synthetic shirt (think a nike dri fit tee or similar)

the supima cotton tees are a standard, regular fit t shirt the uniqlo u tees are heavier weight and slightly more roomy

You can also try out the chinos at uniqlo and see how they compare to the gap

you'll want to try them on to see how they feel because again, uniqlo can change wildly in quality between seasons

Between seasons? Which season would you say is ideal Canadian by the way. .

season referring to the production cycle of the clothes uniqlo is about to release their clothes (including some "new" tees) for spring 2024, these may differ from what was released in spring 2023 or fall 2023 even if they're the same product

the best thing you can do is try on the shirts in person not specifically but there's more focused conversation on uniqlo as a brand in the brands section https://discord.com/channels/1116793467654381685/1128745171522166844

Is the dry series like a moisture wicking workout shirt?

yes my personal experiences with the supima tees have been good, they were soft from the first wear and didn't shrink all that much after washing the collar got a little stretched out after a while (read: several months) but other people have said differently
