Welcoming / onboarding new members (Weekly meetings)
I'd like to start up a weekly meeting on this server specifically geared for new members (or people who have been lurking for a while but haven't been active). My intention is to give people a chance to introduce themselves more fully than can be done with text and hear the specific concerns that brought them to this server, as well as to host a "no stupid questions" time for people to get personalized answers on topics ranging from "what is alignment?" to "why pause?" to "how can I help?" My hope is to increase the sense of community on this server and give more people a feeling of agency to apply their personal strengths in ways that make a difference.
I'm volunteering to spearhead this because it is a role I often find myself in for other communities and I like helping out in this way--I'm also needing a break from my alignment projects that have a much longer delay and lower probability for impact. Co-facilitators would be great, especially starting up and as a backup for weeks I have to skip because of time conflicts. I would also need to have a quick chat with @Joep Meindertsma re guidelines to be aware of, any relevant server permissions, and any other applicable logistics.
Probable time: Mondays, 5-6pm, Pacific Time (may change somewhat depending on feedback).
