first job - need jacket advice

Evening gents, I’ve this week secured my first work placement at a newspaper. The dress code is somewhat business casual (no trainers or jeans, collared shirt) and a jacket/tie mostly in case of spontaneous courtroom reporting. What style/colour jacket would suit what I’ve picked out here? I can’t work out what would be too formal or too casual. I’m kind of free balling it as I’m the first in my family to go into white collar work lmao so any help would be appreciated! Thanks guys 😁

Here are some great jacket and tie fits from the last couple of days in #waywt that I think show some of your options. Often a navy blazer is recommended as a first jacket. I also really like dark(ish) grey or brown as options. Often the fabric is what makes a jacket more or less casual. Tweed (like in most of these examples) or another "rougher" fabric works well, as does cotton or even a cotton/linen blend for a less warm alternative.

Thank you these are great suggestions. I was thinking a tweed/visibly textured or even lightly patterned jacket would suit more than a blazer in a newspaper office/reporting environment as it's a typical "journalist" look, but i wasn't sure how formally it could be styled. I'll check some out now, thank you!

You can find lots of inexpensive second-hand tweed blazers on eBay, if you know your size.
