Data missing after removing Postgres deployment
I removed the deployment of my postgres database.
I am not very familiar with postgres on railway and just set it up once in the past.
From what I see there were no volumes attached, can the data be recovered?
And what does having a volume attached do?
project id
Edit: After redeploying there is still not a volume attached

Having the volume attached like in the screenshot below provides data persistence.
I just followed the steps that you took on a test, and the volume stayed in place.
I'm going to tag the team on this one, as I feel you found a nice little bug.

Thread has been flagged to Railway team by @Vin.
wait i never had a volume attached in the first place
is that possible
If you deployed it from the "Deploy Postgres" button when creating the project, it should definitely have had a volume attached.
I have notified the team, unfortunately, they are distributed and for a majority of them it is midnight, so they will respond most likely in the morning.
hmmmm okay thank you Vin
No problem @Nife I'm hopeful that the team will be able to assist.
Any updates on this will be greatly appreciated as I have to notify users that were affected π
@Cooper could you take a look at this?
Solution
If there's no volume the data is unfortunately gone
Ok, thank you.
