1mm vs 1.5mm Alu plate F1-8x: Any sound difference?
Hi does anyone know how the difference in the thickness affects the sound?

1.5mm = Louder, lower pitch
1.0mm = Thinner, higher pitch
Based on my experience
Thank you! Just wanted to also ask for the pp plate. I presume it will sound lower pitch but will it sound dull? And for volume is it softer?
not necessary, it is actually quite loud and has a poppy sound signature depending on the switch you use
is hard to explain, but i actually really like both PP and Alu
Ic! Was planning to use hmx switch
HMX switch sounds insane on PP
But not sure which plate shd it go with
This is not the F1, but it is using HMX xinhai on PP top mount
I had hmx cloud on my cycle 7 alu and I love the marbly high pitch sound. Was looking to try maybe xinhai or cheese on f1 but not sure if I shd get pp plate
Wow sounds so amazing!
I try xinhai PP on the f1, it is very good
Looks amazing too!
Actually can I ask if u prefer r pp or alu
Like usually I heard alot of good things abt pom pp and alu.
Xinhai Aluminium 1.0mm plate on F1 V2
I like both, both it terms of sound and feel
half plate also sounds amazing on the f1
Wow both are amazing!
That's alot!
So kind of u to share these sound video!
Now I gotta get down the deciding colours haha
Navy green or burgandy
๐
no problem, hope it helps you to make to decision on which plate to get, my advice is just get both if you are unsure which to get
haha
One more sound test for you, Alu 1.0mm half plate with Xinhai
Wowwwwwwww
all these are using sarokeys BCP as the spacebar for your information
Ic the space bar really pops
Did u relube them?
nope, din see a reason too, is already smooth out of the box
I am using stabies polycarbonate for the stabs, so if you want to replicate, i suggest to get that
Yeap I already gotten stabies
They are amazing
Thank you so much!!!!
Just wonder have u tried pom before. And if so how would u compare them to pp. Not many vendors offer pp so in the event i didn't want alu I was thinking if pom is a good alternative
POM has definitely fallen off my radar, i much prefer PP over POM
but i have not tried POM on the F1, so is up to you if you want to try
Pom sounds a lot duller than pp. I wouldn't recommend buying it as a pp alternative
Ah ok
That's what I felt when I heard sound tests but since it varies with the mic used to record I wanted to get some opinions
Thanks alot! Everyone have been so generous in sharing their knowledge!
