Why does utility feel so oppressive to me?

So I've been playing on and off since the beta and it feels like this most recent time I've returned, every match is just me getting completely squashed by utility. For context I'm consistently playing in gold, and back about 2 years ago I hit plat 2 as my all time peak. I'm understanding that the general player base is a lot more well educated on the fundamentals now, so I understand why I haven't really kept up as well in that regard, but every game for me personally just feels like I can't break through enemy utility at all. My site hits on attack are lackluster usually getting stopped before they start by smokes, cypher trips, sage walls, even deadlock setup. I am usually maining duelist and I don't want to be the guy that blames the team that I can't properly entry, but I mean I'll have controllers on my team drop smokes, I'll push into a massive wall of enemy utility (because they pretty much drop it the second our smokes drop, and I'll die without any impact or being able to be traded. Best case scenario seems to be we get smoked or walled and then rotate with no map control and end up getting stopped by an enemy that's taken space and called for early rotates. I kind of understand as well that most people will say something along the lines of "well you go take that space yourself then and be a lurker or something along those lines" and I'd be happy to, but every time I've tried even if I'm the main reason we pick up the round I still get the shade thrown at me of "You are the duelist why do you not entry?" I want to play my role, and I want to keep the team happy, but I just feel like I can't break into any site alone, and more often than not the blame seems to just fully fall on me regardless of where I am on the map. "You are a duelist why can't you ever get an entry kill?" "Why are you lurking on duelist?" "Why are you staying behind and not entrying?". It just feels like every single site I hit is a brick wall and if I try to just shove my way through that brick wall it crumbles down on top of me. tl;dr: I play duelist and when my team expects me to entry I do, and I am met with what feels like an absolutely overwhelming torrent of utility that shuts me down in an instant with absolutely no hope of escaping the situation. Coming from csgo the abilities in this game feel so absolutely oppressive that I do not know how to cope with playing against them properly in my preferred role.

Maybe you should try changing roles for a while in order to learn how to play around util
