What are your favorite chambray and denim shirts? Favorite brands at low medium and high price points? What do you look for in one of these shirts? What brands have been great for them and what brands have really let you down? Feel free to share a few of your favorite fits or inspo that feature these shirts, too. I've had a momotaro chambray, v slim and short but I like the build quality. Orslow used wash denim shirt (https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/1116800072093532191/1205118400209096754/image.png?ex=65fc1ef8&is=65e9a9f8&hm=566436db59e3c1d086917181e6c7c35ae0ce02cb947849ffc8daed5fa307c358&) is a lifer to me I'll wear it till it falls apart. I have a Luxire denim western unwashed that I had made and never wear. Denim is too heavy, build quality is less than perfect. Latest is a Sugar Cane chambray (https://media.discordapp.net/attachments/1116800072093532191/1209846606782795786/image.png?ex=65fadd74&is=65e86874&hm=981e4ff9a5f9645added7b85fd885bf3f29a62a36b5221d7b6389fbd65fe2515&=&format=webp&quality=lossless&width=702&height=936) that I can tell will get heavy circulation. Fit and finish are :chefskiss: .

Wythe has a great washed denim shirt. I also like Portugese Flannel for chambray and denim shirt options.

I've been trying to find one in dress shirt sizes (collar/sleeve), and have been unsuccessful so far. Does this exist?

I also have a momotaro chambray shirt that I got for a good price secondhand on ebay, it has lined cuffs and fits nice, short enough that it can be worn tucked or untucked - https://discord.com/channels/1116793467654381685/1116800072093532191/1216063270906236948 I also have a Levi's western shirt that I really like.

Recently picked up what I thought was a white/ecru western shirt from Marrkt but the fit was awful and the material wasn't what I thought it was, so that got returned. I've replaced it with one of these Indigofera shirts I got on deep discount that should make a good summer shirt as it's 6oz

One thing that's been one step away from making it to my saved searches are the JC Penney Big Mac embroidered shirts, a lot of really cute/nice designs for decently cheap

Spier had some chambray button downs that were collar/sleeve last season. I got a purple label one and the fabric is pretty nice (Ope, missed the Spier train already lol)

My favorite is RRL (first picture). I think I bought it on eBay ~15 years ago and I didn't realize how much I wore it until I updated my dating app profile and noticed most of my favorite pictures had me in it. :oof: There were a couple of looks that I've seen recently that I really liked and it inspired me to buy a G. Inglese denim shirt. It's a little dressier but still denim so it's easy to dress down. Seems like I need to wear it with some green corduroys! Beyond G. Inglese, I really liked the Beams Plus chambray NMWA offered earlier this season. Just very simple and nice: https://nomanwalksalone.com/collections/shirts/products/classic-work-shirt-in-blue-chambray

Classic work shirt in blue chambray
"A workwear staple we can rely on Beams to deliver season after season. Their work shirt is among the best you'll find modern made, with selvedge trim, reinforced stitching, and in a handsome chambray cloth. It's something you can take to its limit, like really wear to bits, with peace of mind knowing a fresh one isn't

Just got (and am currently wearing) the engineered garments chambray work shirt. Really like it, had to order a size down and it’s still large on me in a good way. Has cool details like the cigarette pockets and oversized cuffs which makes me feel like I’m walking out of a factory.

One of my most interesting pieces in my closet is a Self Edge x Als Attire “Pote Tin Kyriaki” Denim shirt with tons of cool details like Greek flag colored cuff button holes, yoke pockets, angled front button holes.

And my final cool denim shirt is an overshirt by Freewheelers “The Vanishing West” here as modeled by Play Lee. I bought this because of this series of pictures, excellent old west americana reproduction from japan.

I love denim and chambray shirts so much. Currently, I have the Wythe dark indigo denim shirt. For chambray, I currently have these Momotaro, Individualized, and UES shirts. I’d like to get the Brycelands Sawtooth denim shirt next.

Sid Mashburn, Brooks Brothers, and G Inglese make some that are RTW. Todd Snyder and J Crew make okay ones but if you’re looking for more of a spread collar or button down situation, probably not the move. Spier & McKay, Individualized, Proper Cloth, 100 Hands, and Luxire will make you one that is MTO.

Yes but as with suits or footwear, the temptation with MTOs is to pick every interesting detail and I suggest avoiding that. Pick one or two interesting details and you’ll have a better chance of coming out with something that looks good

Chambray is my favorite warm weather fabric. I have 2 Buzz Rickson chambray shirts in blue and white that I love. I also got a stonewash black chambray by Evisu that I'm excited to wear once the weather warms up. Finally I ordered a Sugar Cane one in red w/ wabash that should arrive later this month

What type of chambray do ug like wearing with tailoring out of curiosity? A bit dressier one with a button down collar or a work or western wear one?
jawntanamo_bae

I like both depending on the vibe Westernwear plays so well with tailoring if you’re trying to be casual

I’ve been eyeing Buzz chambray. I have an RRL denim workshirt that I’m into but I’d prefer something like the TCB Ranchman or Warehouse Longhorn in the future. Sleeve length is always the hang up for Japanese shirts for me. There are also some great vintage Polo Country denim shirts on eBay. I got one for my wife and they’re super thick and heavy
