Ghostwire Tokyo not working at all
ive been trying to get the game to work but no mater what i did it wouldnt work, proton experimental would make the game freeze on a black screen, GE 7.22 makes the game pop out a error about dx12 not being supported and GE 8-22 makes a error appear, ive tried like 10 or 15 different solutions, none of them work. (using the egs version)

you have to share logs, and you have to be more specific of the errors you are having

Disable

what's the error you get? (in the logs there's no error, it just ends)
4 more things I would try:
- change the prefix to be
/home/deck/Games/Heroic/Prefixes/Ghostwire Tokyo (removing the default part of the path)
- use a more up-to-date version of wine-ge, 8-1 is pretty old, 8-26 is the latest
- try enabling game mode in the game's settings in heroic
- try repairing the game: game page > 3 dots menu > verify and repairambitious-aquaOP•2y ago

Download and install Wine-GE-latest from Heroic's Wine Manager, select that for this game
After that, delete your Wineprefix (
/home/deck/Games/Heroic/Prefixes/Ghostwire Tokyo)
If that still doesn't work, send in a new logambitious-aquaOP•2y ago

You get this error when you've tried to install the game too many times
you've hit activation maximum for the game in a 24 hour period
note: every time you clear a prefix for a denouvo protected game, it will count as an activation. Every time you reinstall it will count as an activation, so if you've tried and restarted a bunch of times, you'll hit the limit
the only thing to do is try again in a day or so
if you go to the link for that error, does it say wait 24 hours?

oh, that prob explains a lot lol
i kept switching proton versions bc i kept looking at forums and one guy said to use X version another said to use another one etc. etc. so i kept trying to find a version that actually worked and didnt just immediately crash the game or have it stuck on a black screen after clicking new game

yeah with protected games like this its super important to set one wine, and try not to change it...
You should be able to use latest wine-ge as suggested above, this game for me works pretty much out of the box
