So....a new question

I just want to change the font color of the day and date info displayed in the bottom right corner of my desktop. JUST the displayed text, i.e. friday march 15, 5:37 PM. That's it. I presume it's possible, and im ok with having to edit .css if i have to, but it seems to me there should be a simpler way. A little help please?

oh cinnamon sorry didnt see ya there ive poked around online and pretty much most of them want you to go ecit the .css file, which would be a pain

i dont know much about cinnamon, but have you tried right clicking the clock itself to see if its got theming options?

yeah, the config has limited options

you probably then are stuck with the css approach you might be able to find cinnamon themes online that do what you want

yeah thats what i thought but regarding the themes etc, it seems there are multiple places where the right one might reside, and i have no clue

im also not qutie sure which categor it would fall into, icons or desktop well i remember the cli days but that was a long time ago i do have access to a linux channel but they tend to be snobs the people here seem pretty reasonable so far well i guess i will just have to dig into it thing is, im not sure if its an applet or what, its just the calendar prog that came with the distro

well fortunately most linux things are configured by a text file somewhere.. so outside of figuring out what css to edit, i think the other easy option is to go to one of those theming sites and use something there that looks a bit more like what you want

yeah i have no idea for cinnamon, but iirc its gtk based, so probably a gtk theme site probably works

well thanks for at least trying, but i am still learning the jargon ive found a few places that seems to point in the right direction, but its like trying to look at something through a cloud of smoke, information-wise, not always clear thanks again for at least trying i will just muddle my way through it or not worry about it its not really a big deal, it just would be nice thing is, im not sure its even attatched to a theme oh well i will just go ahead and mark this as solved

hopefully it is.. i suspect its all gtk backed stuff and altering your gtk theme would generally impact how the clock looks.. and there are so many gtk theming sites out there

lol i just solved it by moving the applet to the top of the screen where its darker and the white is easier to see cant believe they dont have a font color option on that app
