LoD Colors seem to be off at a distance

Observed: At a distance, some mountains appear green when there is no grass block there When we get closer, the LoDs seem to somewhat correct the color. And when they enter vanilla render distance, we see the true state of the blocks. Also, there seems to be a patching effect on the colors as seen in the first image. these diamond shaped patches which aren't actually present in the terrain

Solution:
iirc whether surface is grassy or not is actually now in the features pass of the terrain gen

so once a chunk is generated it's gonna take some time for them to regenerate IF current version is set to override old chunks with worse mode
