403 when trying to download games from epic

Any attempt in downloading game from epic ends with game being added to queue, sitting there for a minute and then it gets cancelled. Logs say:

I tried logging out and in, clearing cache and clicking reset heroic in advanced settings. Same issues on macos and steam deck. Version 2.13.0 on both devices

is safe to ignore, it doesn't prevent the game from being downloaded check the Legendary log, there must be an error there somewhere to match the 403 errors

can it be this?

can you share the log here after trying to download one game? I understand we already restart the download with more shared memory when that error happens

looks like I solved it myself I edited legendary's config.ini by adding max_memory = 6000 and it's downloading now looks like heroic auto-increases memory to 5000 and it's not enough my solution works on mac but not on steam deck

403 is usually a lack of authorization. try logging out and in again

I fixed it on deck as well, turns out there are 2 legendary config files in different locations and I edited the wrong one

we probably need to catch that error if it happens more than once and increse the memory limit by more what game is it?

transport fever 2 hello, this problem just occured to me again, this time with The Talos Principle 2 (which is weird, as I downloaded this game before without issues). This time I had to increase max memory to over 13GB and it causes heroic to crash after a while. I've been downloading this game for 4 days so far and I'm at 80%

you can try downloading an alternative Legendary binary from https://github.com/Heroic-Games-Launcher/legendary/actions/runs/12494683308?pr=11 and setting is as alternative exe in settings > advanced, to fix the requirement of a lot of memory to download games
