hats
where do you all find hats? I feel like I need more hats but idk where to start. Honestly just looking for general recommendations and trying to build a base of what I even like. leaning more towards androgyny/womenswear stuff for obvious reasons but I'm flexible. my head is not though, hat size XL and most "one size" baseball caps don't even fit in my head.

after posting this I realized I'm mostly looking for like inspo albums ig?
like ballcaps or actual variety?
actual variety
I'm a little bit averse to ballcaps but I could be convinced otherwise
Wanted a bucket hat so I just went on aggregators like ssense and started scrolling
Actually saw a fair bit of variety
what I realized is that I was using my big noise canceling headphones as a hat/hair accessory
maybe I should just get even more affected headphones
porta pro gaming
I'm seeing mixed reviews
ya im thinking real life is not anime
real talk probably look at brand look books and runways, or idk berets
this was a joke 😔
like i feel like the core set of hats is obviously baseball, beanie, bucket. Other hats you might see are fedora :xd: , beret, or ushankas
I was just trying to remember what they were called
baseball, beanies, and buckets are all super masculine coded though
well not super
to varying extents
beanies are such a wide range anyways
my roommate has a ton of cool hats
but they're all from womenswear brands that don't make hats that fit my bloated skull
anywhere and everywhere, I feel like a lot of common ball caps are not masc-coded but they may be outside your aesthetic
lots of sportswear/streetwear style ones are pretty integrated as summer standbys for city women
esp vintage ones, ironic/humorous ones, ones with niche/unusual logos or iconography, etc.
it's a lil like a graphic tee but simultaneously more subtle (smaller) and more visible (on your head rather than your chest)
I think the "fish want me, women fear me" type hat has moved well into the cultural discourse
Yurt do you have a beret?
I feel like you could rock a beret but that might be because I've seen you wear one already
uh yeah but it sucks and doesn't really fit
I've never posted it
where does one acquire a good beret
@circleframes I like the one you posted in waywt that one time
I think @upsett1_spaghett1 🥀 has one as well and @The Teenage Gentleman lol ?
Do you proxy Y!JP?
Yeah I got 3 haha
I have one vintage French one and two from HW Dog that I like
@Yurt ty 🥺. Mine was cheap from some vintage store in Olympia but it was a new brand. I’m asking them for the brand now aha
laulhere berets are cute and some of their models come in larger sizes
A vintage shop near me has these cool bucket hats made from feedsacks and i think they strike me as more androgynous than some other bucket hat styles ive seen https://www.instagram.com/p/CkOrWomy7qW/?igsh=MWQ1ZGUxMzBkMA==

^ playing off this, I find bucket hats in non-cotton fabrics read as less masculine-coded. Knit or fleece bucket hats read more feminine to me - something like these Story MFG ones perhaps? https://www.storymfg.com/en-us/products/brew-hat-jam

Brew Hat - Jam
These hand crochet hats are designed for peering into other dimensions - but they work fine for just going to the shops too. Crochet using 100% organic cotton yarn and hand dyed using all natural dyes. This product is handmade and can be gently eased by hand to fit the size and shape of your head.
whatup fellow big skull haver. Stretchy hats are our friends
- cashmere beanies on sale from j crew - fun colors to coordinate w/ outfit, i have a mfn rainbow
- vintage polo ralph lauren corduroy polo bear ball caps
- porter classic berets
- i have a sashiko bucket hat i rarely use bc it squishes my hair down in a way i dislike
Counterpoint: I love my sashiko bucket hat and I just don’t take it off
it's definitely more bearable when my hair is shorter!
