what loafers would best suit my needs?

I’m looking to get my first pair of actually nice loafers. Heard a lot of great things about meermin. I’m attracted to the leather oak antique calf loafers, but a little worried that leather could give off a little too formal of a look as opposed to suede, but I’m just really on the fence. I see myself wearing these a lot during spring/summer season since I live in a pretty hot/humid environment, so something that would pair well with some linen shorts and a polo. I’d like to maybe wear it with pants as well, but again, because I’m in a warmer climate, it’s unlikely since I tend to prefer comfort over everything. Please give me your suggestions if you don’t mind :))))

I'm a big fan of Allen Edmonds loafers, the Randolph model fits my foot perfectly. Added bonus of them being plentiful on eBay so if you're down with buying second hand you can easily get a pair of suede and a leather pair for less than the price of a new pair. If you can find an older miUSA pair of Florsheim loafers, they're fantastic quality too. I'm not sure what your budget is but Grant Stone makes fantastic shoes, especially for the price. Alden, Meermin, Velesca, Allen Edmonds, Sebago, and Rancourt are all good choices

I don’t think TLB really has anything that falls totally into that pocket, but the closest ones are the loafers on the Jones last. If you get them in suede and style them right, they won’t be too here-nor-there. It’s hard to beat the LHS for that sort of look, and you can usually find some decently cheap on eBay. Otherwise, Grant stone is a pretty reliable second, though the pictured JM Weston and C&J are also certainly worthy options

Were way darker than I expected based on online photos, so I’m returning. Going to try the rancourt pinch pennies next.
