Autonomous powerline recharging revolutionizes drone operations

Researchers at the University of Southern Denmark have created an autonomous drone system for prolonged operations near powerlines. It lands on powerlines using advanced perception and recharges using a split-core current transformer. Tested outdoors, it showed hours of continuous operation, suggesting extended endurance potential.
