Does railway run on kubernetes? If so can I use the API for the current pods that are online? Or can I run an kubernetes node on it?

Railway does not run on k8s, they run their own custom orchestrator

Hmmm, Would it be possible to run an kubernetes server on it? Or wouldn't that work probably not

may i ask why you need k8s or a vps? is there something railway could improve upon with how they deploy user code?
