do I need to join a team/get a stack to get out of plat. I solo qued and think I’m stuck

Just think most of my games have no plan and may aswell be a swift play

you don't have to but it does make it easier start calling the strats yourself if you think there is no plan, you can't complain about how the gameplan is if you aren't even contributing
