Overview
If we’re going to stop AI from killing us, we can’t do it on our own. We need allies: other groups, some who have been around much longer than we have, who want governments to act on this.
These groups might include unions, environmental groups, artist coalitions, and others who don’t want AI development to continue at its present, reckless pace.
This project will involve:

These groups might include unions, environmental groups, artist coalitions, and others who don’t want AI development to continue at its present, reckless pace.
This project will involve:
- Building a list of potential allies or coalition partners: groups who we could work with to build support for a pause, who we might want to invite to our meetings with elected officials, who might sign onto a letter in support of an international treaty, etc.
- Reaching out to these groups and meeting with them.
- Figuring out how best to get different groups involved, and in what capacity.
- Leveraging our connections with groups to apply political pressure for governments to act.
- Tiny (<1 hr): Think about groups we might want to reach out to, and send your ideas to this channel.
- Medium (2-3 hrs): Reach out to any groups that you think might be interested in meeting/working with us.
