Valorant wont launch
Hoping someone can help here.
I was playing Val yesterday with no problems, today I wanted to open and it wont launch.
I launches to the "PLAY" screen. I had to update so I clicked update and then play and nothing happened. I tried running as administrator and still nothing opens.
I ran Riot as administrator and it opened, when i click play it loads for a few seconds and then the play button screen is back again and I cant get further than that.
When I exit Vanguard my game loads but then I get the error that Vanguard needs to be installed before the game will run.
Below are the "fixes" i have tried.
- Reinstalled about 6 or more times to different folders each time
- Checked my drivers and windows updates and they all updated.
- Made sure my Secure BOOT and TPM are enabled in my BIOS
- Uninstalled Vanguard only and reinstalled
- VGC is on automatic and enabled
- Vanguard tray Notification is app is turned on
This happened to me in January and I eventually reformatted my pc. Trying to avoid that this time.
I did get an email from Riot in January with some steps to try which I did back then but not really sure if I did them right, maybe someone with more PC knowledge can hop into a call and help?

@Saucywan has anyone you helped today with this issue been resolved or everyone still got a problem? I see a few more chats have been opened with the same issue but none have been fixed
Yeah, I havenβt solved any of them yet
just a hopeful suggestion- whats your gpu driver? maybe the latest is causing this (i have this issue and the latest driver)

so I got this issue before updating my drivers. I then updated my gpu drivers and my windows and still no success

no, today, the last time I had this issue was in Jan and I eventually reformatted my pc
riot client told you to update then you clicked on it, 1 second update, and couldnt play? thats my version of the history

maybe its from this update affecting specific devices, we just have to know what we got on common, if we even do have

besides hardware, i dont rly know what else could affect this
yet, i dont do valorant support i dont know that many variables from this enviroment
so a mate of mine is helping me now, if nothing my brother will help tomorrow if still nothing I will reformat my pc. Ill let u know if anything helps

the steps I did.
- Reinstalled Valorant
- Right clicked in the shortcut, went to compatibility and ticked run as administrator.
- Selected run this program in compatibility mode > windows 8
- Opened Virus and threat protection > manage settings > turned off "Real-Time Protection
- Opened Virus and threat protection from the "Search" tab > Add or remove exclusions > added my riot folder
- Opened System Configuration > services > tick "Hide all Microsoft services" > disabled all > ticked steam, vgc and restarted my pc
- Opened Riot shortcut as administrator, clicked play and it opened

Also, you should re-enable the services you disabled
wont hurt to try but its prolly useless
try skipping it first? its quick when u have the steps. if it doesnt work then reinstall

Nope ππ but that maybe bc I have a slightly different issue, it lets me open val but itβs stuck on the start up loading screen
And after a while it goes black or either stays like that

awww im sorry. I know my loading screen took SUPER long than normal to open but it did eventually open

This is an issue with files loading off of your disk. You might have a HDD. If you do, you should defragment it or get an SSD and place Valorant on it.
Use
windows key + r than type "dfrgui" to check what type of drive you have.
