RThe chair isn't great out of the box for center mounts but you can do a lot with aluminum extrusions

(Which saves these to the device even after rebooting?)2)so is this save settings required if u change other settings such as friction?(had assumed when u changed settings such as gain and spring force these would automatically come through on the stick without having to save anything)?

Mthanks - but just to be clear if you select or change a setting in the settings section such as hardware trim or friction - do you always have to store settings for it to be applied onto the stick? (what prompted this discussion was that I had selected hardware trim in the software settings but it wasn't showing up in DCS - perhaps because I had not hit the store settings button to upload it to the stick?)
HMight be a strange question, but any drawbacks or positives in adding a 20 cm extension? I used it on my Virpil CM2 base. I’m rearranging my mounting, and now have the possibility to use the extension. Still not sure it’s worth the hassle. Anyone with experience? I mainly fly in DCS, both helis and planes.
AI have no experience on that, but 20cm on top of what the rhino offers stock sounds like a really long stick
HBase would be mounted almost on the floor - with seating in an office chair.
Nmany people use the virpil 20cm extension or similar, or the z-extension which ends up being somewhere around 120-150mm I think. Of course, the longer the extension, the less force it will be capable of at the grip.. but it works fine with that extension size for most people
HI really want to avoid curves. Had to use heavy curvature in dcs on my cm2-base. But I suspect I need more time with the rhino without any extension first.
HBut you do touch on an important point. The longer the extension, the lower the force.
NFFB is not compatible with curves anyway, so you'll have to figure out how to do without either way :).
RSo in general, extensions are a tremendous value added, especially for helos. Almost night and day difference in my experience.
RI have a 34cm helo specific extension on my VPC CM2 base and it is fantastic

DWell that is disappointing. I turned my computer on and the Rhino slammed forward so hard into my "cockpit dash" that it broke my 3D printed TM grip adapter in two. That has not happened before.
Asounds scary
AI broke a VKB adapter with creative use of the configurator and although it was kind of annoying, I kind of think that if something is going to break, adapters are probably the least bad option
DYeah. I should probably get two adapters printed just in case for future proofing.
JYeah I'm definitely keen for the metal upgrade walmis has on offer soon, though that isn't for an adapter

MRhino by itself is so large it's like a regular joystick with a short (~8 cm) extension. It also has a very large throw out of the box. With a longer extension, you'll have to install more restrictive throw limiters to prevent it from hitting your legs and chair. So it's a trade off, and the extension is more to get the grip positioned comfortably depending on your base mounting location, than to increase the stick precision.
MI tried mine without extension, and with virpil z extension, and personally I prefer without extension. With z extension I had to install different throw limiter that negated most of the increased movement range. And had to crank FFB gain to the max to compensate for added lenght and weight.
MOn the other hand many people use rhino with an extension and it works for them.

CI have the same one optimized for my Rhino setup.
LGot my Rhino today. Had the honor of getting it directly from Walmis hands in his workshop BTW, I have MKI VKB grip, which is not supported. It took Walmis to look at it for 10 seconds, and another 20 min to manufacture a proper adaptor. Such a great guy! Another thing that I was surprised, is the amount of stuff they doing in-house. They even mill some smaller aluminum parts!
