2024 May Summit protest video
Next Monday, May 13th, we'll do an international protest in 10+ cities. We should all collaborate on one video that captures the energy, the international nature, and the urgency of our message.
Shoot a lot of footage. Do it yourself, or appoint someone to do so. When shooting the protest, make sure to get cropped, active shots that feel alive and moving. Don't stand from a large distance and go for a group shot - that looks distant. Get close, be inside the protest. Instruct people to move, walk around with signs in a direction, do a chant. Make it look energetic. Do some landscape, and some portrait (I need portrait for shorts, @Niki Drozdowski needs landscape for documentary).
Specifically, do some interviews. Shoot in portrait. Ask people what they want to say to their minister visiting seoul. I think this could be really effective in a montage. We could really speak to our representatives. There is a real chance they will see this! We are targeting them specifically, sending them letters.

Ideally it uses speach fragments from the various interviews to make a coherent narrative, and combine that into a one-minute video that tells the main story:

- Who we are (PauseAI, volunteers, activists)
- What the problem is (risks from AI, the race)
- What the solution is (a Pause through a treaty)
- What we're asking for (the ministers to initialize treaty negotiations during Seoul)
