Yes, Dynamic Earth is a sciency museum out on its own road. Unless they don't use the whole space for the conference, the public won't be around much. Our target would be those attending.
"Throughout the day our Living With AI Lounge will be open to the public in the Ozone area of Dynamic Earth. In a world full of AI disinformation and misunderstanding, Living with AI aims to give people a better grasp on the impact that AI is currently having on our society and work, exploring the challenges that we face with AI, and discovering what AI will hold for us in the future. The Lounge will be open from 12:00 - 17:30 and will feature exhibitions, talks, and demos."
So: Dynamic Earth is a science/geology/evolution museum. A bit out of town but relatively popular nonetheless.
Looks like it remains open to the public after all while hosting the summit.
And I think"in a world of AI misunderstanding" may come from the continued Scottish AI belief that x-risk is way overplayed and derived from the popular media, so I'd be prepared for some messaging around that. We should be part of the discussion.
"This is indeed a sign I am holding. I thought you intended the Lounge to include posters and demonstrations"
We didn't ever wrap up here. @Squink @Kabir Kumar and I made it along. Meeting them was great. Also got another few contacts and got to do my first "be the doomer in the confused room" interactions.
The summit, like the Alliance, was very "AI ethics matters right now and none of that silly sci-fi distraction please"
It was pretty engaged and regulation friendly though. Big "this is about 8 billion people not 8 billionaires" theme. Zero "oh we need to be careful we don't constrain Scottish AI companies too much" acceleration vibe
