AAfaik @HydraandSeek is currently the active organizer in NYC but I think they are just the most active group who is still using the discord thread

PWe're only a few months from starting too, so I'm still trying to figure out a lot of stuff. Right now, we're just using Eventbrite (free for events with less than 25 official attendees) to put together a few events, including one monthly one on the 11th that's in a public space with a sign. We're trying to get other members of the group to create their own projects and take on minor responsibilities for specific areas that they're interested in, but we only have a few people that regularly attend in person.
WThanks for the update! What is the ToC of your local group? We were discussing about it a couple days ago, and about goals in general for a PauseAI local group
FWish I could be of more help! My advice is mostly to make use of the resources provided on here and from the staff. I think having an initial meeting in the way that’s most accessible to people (eg online vs in person, a topic / action that people are most excited about) are good best practices. You can also try cross promoting on EA or other relevant servers.
