adaptive sync flicker

I noticed I'm getting a lot of black level kinda flicker or strobing in games w adaptive sync set to anything other than off. There any kind of way to mitigate that? I have fps displaying and it's very steady, doesn't do it in windows w freesync

Amd 7900xt in Kde if that helps
