How should I style this flannel?

But ... I'm not sure what to wear it with.

What would y'all recommend?
I was thinking:
- Wide jeans: https://www.zara.com/us/en/utility-pocket-jeans-p00840415.html
- A tight shirt, like a wife-beater (apparently tight clothes go well w/ looser fitting overshirts)
- Brown sneakers like the guy has in his post. (Or maybe white?)
Alternatively, would it be possible to style this with white double-knee pants?
