HYou assign it yourself in the VP configurator software. (obviously it needs to be different from the joysticks)
RI imported the default config and tested and i am still getting the boing effect vs what @amadeus posted in his video. I then match his settings and still have the boing. I will post a video later when I get some time of what my joystick is doing. Here are my current settings

Ayeah unfort i'm pretty stumped at this point, based on what you're saying, everything should just be working as expected
NCheck your debug tab while DCS is running. The effects with black text are the active ones. Look for the damper effect. If it is grey text, DCS or something else stopped the effect you have set in configurator. Unless you have the damper override in TelemFFB set at %0 (which will actually override a sticky setting in configurator), enabling the sticky option will stop DCS from stopping the effect.
RThey settings i have checked in effects show up as black i can turn them on and off and they show black or blank depending whether on and off, so working correctly.

RReset config and match your settings and still has the boing.

Ahehe, kk, yeah that's probably some weird interplay with your extension, or the other expert settings
Ai don't know enough about those settings to know whether they can fight with each other, or if like, it's very dependent on whether you have an extension or not
RMy extension is 40cm
Athe only other thing i would say try, and it may still yield those chaotic resuls, is trying to match my expert settings across the board

Ai don't know if you got that shut down because the damper was too high relative to other stuff, or whether it was an issue with your extension
Ai think the shut down will keep things safe like it did previously, but if you're worried, wait for someone like walmis or one of the DIY guys that knows more about hardware to chime in

Aok -- so the only other thing i can think of at this point would be -- revert back to the settings you had previously, and try maybe incrementing that damper lpf thing, in smaller increments. you originally had it on 6, maybe try 10 and see what happens

Adon't quote me on it -- but i believe it has to do with how it applies and mixes the forces together
Amy running theory, but i don't know for sure, is that somehow damping is not being applied properly, and so the spring is just dominating (why it might be happening more in one axis than the other might be related to the balance of your extension)
