Plasmashell issue using Display Configuration in taskbar (KDE)

I'd like to use the Display Configuration to switch between using my monitor or my TV, both of which are connected to my PC. Selecting "Switch to external screen" seems to work just fine, but when I select "Switch to laptop screen" seems to bug out. The screen does indeed switch back to my monitor but I see a blackscreen with no taskbar or windows, but my open windows are still active and responsive. I need to kill and restart the plasmashell process to get it to return to normal.

xrandr outputs:

Using my monitor:
~$ xrandr
Screen 0: minimum 16 x 16, current 3440 x 1440, maximum 32767 x 32767
DP-1 connected primary 3440x1440+0+0 (normal left inverted right x axis y axis) 810mm x 350mm
   3440x1440 174.91*+
   1920x1440 174.89
   # other resolutions...

Switching to TV using "Switch to external screen":
~$ xrandr
Screen 0: minimum 16 x 16, current 3840 x 2160, maximum 32767 x 32767
HDMI-A-1 connected primary 3840x2160+0+0 (normal left inverted right x axis y axis) 1600mm x 900mm
   3840x2160 119.86*+
   2048x1536 119.85
   # other resolutions...

Switching back to monitor using "Switch to laptop screen" which causes the issue:
~$ xrandr
Screen 0: minimum 16 x 16, current 3440 x 1440, maximum 32767 x 32767
DP-1 connected primary 3440x1440+0+0 (normal left inverted right x axis y axis) 810mm x 350mm
   3440x1440 174.91*+
   1920x1440 174.89

So it seems like the actual switching is working just fine, but plasmashell can't keep up. I've only tried this on Wayland since I want the VRR support.
