Trying to install Immich on Asustor Nas via portainer. Why does it install into RAM?

I am a complete noob and have tried to install the latest Immich (server v1.109.2) onto my Asustor AS6704T NAS (ADM 4.3.1.R752). I have no knowledge on how to use Docker or Portainer CE but I thought I had done okay following your easy guide https://immich.app/docs/install/portainer . Is it because I have Portainer CE installed on my NAS and not Portainer?
Basically I have 43TB of space on the NAS but, after registering the Admin and then logging into Immich, it says I only have 7.7Gb of free space at the bottom left.
When I restarted the NAS, Immich asked for the admin registration setup again and my photos were no longer there. This is why I believe it installed it in my RAM (16Gb).
The only thing I didnt do in the guide was item 10 - Change DB_DATA_LOCATION to a folder where the database will be saved to disk.
I have no clue what to set this to so I left it as was ie ./library
Is this the issue? I have tried to post on Asustors forum but tbh it looks quite dead and abandoned, I dont think I will get a reply there. Any help is much appreciated

My inability to use discord (no idea how to upload files) and Portainer (no idea how to get the files) is causing the issue. I have no command line so I cant do the Docker commands to get the requested files.

@n00biest did you go any farther. I have an ASUSTOR DRIVESTOR 4 on which I am trying to install and have not had luck
