Possible dynamic boost bug for Nvidia laptops

So I’ve been trying for a good chunk of today to get my TDP boost working properly since I reinstalled the bazzite desktop. My GPU was maxing out at 115W accross 5 games and it was a noticeable drop in FPS vs windows.
I ran Nvidia-smi to see what’s up and kept getting a return of 115W for my max TDP with the 3070 Mobile. It’s max TDP is 125W+15W boost so it was actually falling shy of what it should do even without Nvidia-powerd. Well for some reason when I checked it about an hour ago with Nvidia-smi and I got a return of 125W. I don’t believe I changed anything but it went to the proper TDP on its own.
Seemed like progress so I just had to get the 15W boost working and while googling I learned about the Nvidia-powerd.service. Well I ran the command to check if it was already pre installed and got back confirmation that it was enabled. Ran another Nvidia-smi command to see what it says and now it says 140W max TDP. Checked it in a few games and sure enough it’s running substantially better.
I didn’t change a single setting throughout the process so I’m not sure what fixed it other than me running “systemctl status Nvidia-powerd.service” to check the status. I’m going to see if it stays at the proper setting until tomorrow but this seems worth looking into further. 115W vs 140w is a big difference
