Question about the limiter adapter, have a 20cm extension with the Rhino base, many times the fans start and the FFB resistance goes away after a prolonged dogfight with WWII planes in DCS, by adding a limiter adapter, will that reduce motor stress somehow and allows for longer dogfights before the fans kick in and the force goes away?

It all boils down to how much amps are applied at maximum deflection/spring. You can check that with the telemetry provided by the VP config. If you want to extend the time of unlimited force, you either need to increase cooling (pretty hard because the hardware doesn’t exactly excel at heat dissipation) or limit the power. (e.g. reducing the spring force gain)

With the new fan control option, I would recommend to have always a small airflow around the motors. In other words, start earlier with the cooling.

If you raise the upper end, you'll get twice the stiffness. The purple columns show the current state of spring gain/stiffness.

There are ways to design your own panels for 3D printing. I actually installed a Phanteks T30. But don’t expect to much. The Motor-Housing is a good heatsink due to its thermal mass - until it is saturated, then it gets difficult to cool, because it has very little surface area compared to its thermal mass. More airflow is always better, but not by much when the heat transfer is poor.
I‘m actually thinking about adding some of those to the motors:

If cooling becomes a factor though strongly depends on your kind of flying. Mainly an issue in dogfighting with aircraft that can hold a lot of G for a prolonged time…. No factor in basic flying, Air to ground or helicopters.

THe F-14 in dogfights heats the motors up very quickly I found. I I'll have to see if I can find heatsinks that are the right size for the motors. I have one that I thermal taped to the back of a GPU backplate a few years ago that might be too big.
