Mobile app sync/backup after Google Takeout

So apparently I did the steps in the wrong direction. What I did is:
  1. Setup Immich
  2. Use immich-go to upload Google Takeout
  3. Setup Immich Android on the phone and try to have my new files synced.
Now from what I gather I should have synced my phone first, then use immich-go to upload the files and it would detect the duplicates. Now I'm not sure what would be the best way to get new images synced from my phone? Without having duplicate images uploaded?
