VC4 500 IDEX initial cold mesh
Good evening, today I reached the point where I could do my first mesh.
On the first try, I had a 0.600 mm range. After re-tightening the linear rails and pulling the X-axis, I achieved a 0.350 mm range. The X-axis bend is around 0.2 mm.
Afterwards i tried to fix the "hanging" back of the bed, but somehow i can't get under 0.35 mm. If I push the back right corner, the left right corner lifts and the other way round. Because of the vertical extrusion in the mid back, it acts like a rocker. I also tried slightly bending the horizontal extrusion in the back downwards, but no success.
Do you have any suggestions how I can improve this mesh?

I have the same problem, only mine looks more like a transmission tunnel. Nothing I do helps and it actually got worse after last round of trying. I gave up for now and am printing without issue so far. I haven't done anything really big yet though. This appears to be a widespread issue that RR needs to provide a solution for. This is too much money to spend and see a mesh like that. Expecially after using machinist squares and straight edges and following the build guide to the letter.
Pull in your x gantry extrusion more. Bed looks nice, this is bowing gantry
Thanks for the answers. I will try to pull up the gantry even more. Maybe with loose linear rail?
no, you want to bend the gantry extrusion, not the linear rail
Yes, I know what you are saying, but do you pull on the X gantry with the linear rail on it, or do you remove the linear rail to bend the X gantry extrusion?
I pull with gantry mounted. Just don't be wreckless 🙂
Now I pulled 4 times and not too weak. It just won't go under 0.35 😄
Do you think I can proceed like this?
Did you tighten the x rail from one side to the other?
If you tighten the ends first you will trap tensions
If you have the heater mounted I would do it in heat soaked state
