Laptop screen not being disabled with lid closed and connected to external monitor

questionbug
I am having an issue all of a sudden with the 41 update where when I close my laptop lid while connected to an external monitor, it blanks the screen, but doesn't auto-disable it like it used to.

Anyone know what I might check? It was working before and I have minimal changes to the logind.conf

❯ cat /etc/systemd/logind.conf.d/00-custom.conf
[Login]
HandleLidSwitch=lock
❯ cat /etc/systemd/logind.conf.d/00-custom.conf
[Login]
HandleLidSwitch=lock

I am using the default UPower.conf also
