Unable to open a connection to X error desktop mode

hi im receiving an error (see attached picture) when switching to desktop mode on every reboot and cold boot (from shut down state to power on) the error does not re-appear after receiving it if i switch back to gaming mode then back to desktop again however if i reboot or shut down and power on it shows up if i enter desktop mode.. also i am booting into gaming mode directly... also the command "echo $DISPLAY" outputs :0
