Black screen on -deck image, Plasma desktop works as expected.

Got a gaming laptop and I want to use Fedora for schoolwork but Bazzite for couch gaming. Tried installing Fedora first and manually partitioning for Bazzite after, but getting a black screen. Should I install the other way around or is there something else I need to do? Thanks.

Figure I may as well add more info; it's an all-AMD system (5800H, 6600M) and while I'm able to bypass the black screen by going to a TTY and setting the Steam session to Plasma, I can't get into game mode. Reinstalled Bazzite to use my whole drive and still cannot get into game mode. Unsure what the problem is as my hardware (should be) supported.

Did you use the -deck image?

yes, sorry. just the default -deck image

If you used the -deck image, it boots directly into game mode If you don't have game mode, then you installed the non -deck image and will either need to either rebase or reinstall to the -deck image

I have game mode, like the "Return to Game Mode" shortcut is on my desktop just as on a Steam Deck. when I launch it I get a black screen and booted back to KDE after a minute or so the only way to escape the black screen on boot is to use "steamos-session-select plasma" in a TTY
