Wolfenstein TNO "Legendary (Epic Games)" error

For some reason, when I try to launch this game, i get errors. Sometimes TNO works just fine, and sometimes it doesn't. The USB I have the game on is a bit messed up, so its entirely possible it could just be that. But I'm trying to pinpoint anything else it could be before swapping the USB out. I've had to reinstall WolfensteinTNO several times because of corruptions. https://0x0.st/XhAj.log The game log given in the files, after the attached picture pops up (pops up when i click play)

Do other epic store games work? You can probably send heroic logs

Yeah that does sound like it'd be the issue FWIW there's nothing wrong with Heroic or your account login. The error here is happening when Legendary tries to actually launch the game executable, and that's failing

Agree id also think about putting it on more stable storage 🙃

yeahhhh unfortunately probably gonna swap out the USB. the things been giving me problems for a while now its just a pain because i have to reinstall 2 games for about the 40th time now over a day or two. but eh as long as they actually, properly run, i dont mind waiting just wish i knew why the usb keeps messing up, especially when i was just playing fortnite on it just fine

Out of curiosity, why are you installing games onto a USB drive? They're still gonna be slow to access and wear out rather quickly

my computer has a terabyte of space, and ive used almost all of it. the usb is 2tbs

Are you sure it's actually got those 2TB? Plenty of fake USBs around, especially if it wasn't expensive

Is it an actual usb stick?

windows says so. im not sure how much it costed, it was a gift

These fake sticks lie to the operating system

gotcha

So when you go over the real size it starts overwriting data

maybe thats it

So, corruption

https://www.passmark.com/support/bit_fake_USB_detection.php You can use this to find out its real size Note that it will destroy everything on the drive

Get an actual hdd or ssd not a pen drive Even if those arent fake they have short life cycles

Oh actually seems like that one wants to be activated https://github.com/c0xc/CapacityTester seems to also do what you want

You can still get an external one if portability is needed or no internal space
optimistic-gold
optimistic-goldOP•6mo ago
portability isnt really my goal here. i just dont know how to mess with computers too much (mine is prebuilt) and i dont wanna mess it up by putting something inside. which is why i went with the usb
grumpy-cyan
grumpy-cyan•6mo ago
I see. Then go with a bit more reliable options like external hard drives or ssd drives over a usb pen drive
optimistic-gold
optimistic-goldOP•6mo ago
alright. ill look into some after i check the size of the drive
grumpy-cyan
grumpy-cyan•6mo ago
It will still be slow due to usb speed, but they will be way more reliable
