Return to castle wolfenstein crashing/not launching

First log is when using wine-9.0, second proton 9.0 When using any proton (I've tried 9.0, experimental and GEProton9-18 a window pops up and dissapears quickly, with wine my monitor changes resolution and a wine error is displayed (winecrashlog.txt). Also attaching heroic logs.

you probably want to log the output of the game first.. proton doesnt create logs by default so you can try PROTON_LOG=1 in the environment variable section it'll put the log either in your home directory or in the ~/.var/ heroic directory

no, do this instead WINEDEBUG=+fixme that will add the log to the same log you've been submitting (i don't like stepping on your toes like that, sorry)

Install Wine Dependencies by following this guide If this does not immediately resolve your issue, you might also have to delete your Wineprefix (by default it's in ~/Games/Heroic/Prefixes/default/<game name>) Alternatively, you can use the Flatpak version of Heroic: https://flathub.org/apps/com.heroicgameslauncher.hgl

turns out its just the typical old game code not working with new hardware, works on standard proton 9.0 https://www.moddb.com/games/return-to-castle-wolfenstein/downloads/return-to-castle-wolfenstein-v142d-patch
