Witcher 3 doesn’t boot up
I just installed heroic launcher for Witcher 3 on gog everything I try to boot it up it just crashes. I tried already tried changing proton versions any other things I can try ?“

Try running
flatpak update && flatpak install --reinstall com.heroicgameslauncher.hgl, looks like your Flatpak dependencies are messed up
Proton 8 is also rather old now, you probably want to use latest GE-Proton, Proton 9.0, or Experimentaladverse-sapphireOP•6mo ago

Please try the following:
1. Download the latest version of GE-Proton (using Heroic's "Wine Manager")
2. Enable UMU in the settings ("Settings" in sidebar -> "Advanced" -> scroll down and tick "Use UMU as Proton runtime")
3. Select GE-Proton as your Wine Version to use for this game (settings icon on game card / game page -> "Wine Version" dropdown)
4. Delete your Wineprefix (
/home/deck/Games/Heroic/Prefixes/default/The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt - Complete Edition, simply delete the folder on your filesystem)

Did you add the game to Steam using Heroic's built-in "Add to Steam" feature?

No, that's fine
- You could try turning umu off again, although that has a chance of it breaking the game again
- The issue about umu not working in Gaming Mode is apparently known (wasn't known to me, can't reproduce it myself). I expect it to be resolved soon
