Deleted `\thumbs\.immich` whilst clearing up thumbs folder - immich wont start
I had "image missing" icons for some thumbnails and regenerating thumbails didnt fix it so i cleared the thumbnails folder but accidentally deleted the
.immich
file in that location. how can i generate this file again?

If this ticket can be closed you can use the /close
command, and re-open it later if needed.touch .immich
will this generate the missing file?
or is this a way to generate some logs
i cannot enter this command in the container as the container is in a restart loop due to the missing file
if you could give some more context that would be fab.
i
cd
d into the location the file should be and entered touch .immich
nothing was generatedls -a
Files starting with a dot are hidden
oo there is a file in there now, ill restart the container
i still get a boot loop and the same crash
Is it the exact same error?
yes
Because it's saying its a folder not a file
Which is pretty weird
should i remove the .immich and try your command again?
Sure
aight we are live, immich has started fine. thanks for your help
should i close this thread or leave it as it is now?
so ive set immich to generate thumbnails again after clearing the thumbnail folder however im still getting the "error loading image" icon for essentially half of my images

i can download the images that have these "Error loading image" icons from immich gui to my pc and open them so i know the files are there and accessible - jus that the thumbnails are borked

Try running the job for one of those broken files (from the top right menu), then check the logs for errors
ok so i run the refresh thumbs task from the 3 dot menu and this is what the immich_server container gives me with regards to logs
full logs below:
essentially no such file or directory
Those error messages are for the smart search job saying that it can't find thumbnails
ie not for the job you just ran
Can you clear out all the queues so nothing is running, then try again?
