Football Manager Freeze instantly in the main menu
I'm installing Football Manager 2024 with Epic but it will freeze instantly. I thought this could be solved by removing the loading screen while it helped me bypass the loading scren. The game still freeze when theres a display. I'm using WineGE latest. Switching from Proton and older versions won't work

how many times have you changed wine prefix? have you seen an error window pop up? this game has really aggressive denouvo anti copy scheme, and will block you from opening the game for 24 hours if you install it too many times in a small amount of time
(changing wine prefix counts as an "install")

wel 5 times from wineGE to default Wine in my system to Proton latest to Proton 8.4 and back to WineGE

no nothing. Its just freeze in the main menu where it prompt you to accept privacy policy

looks like you have connectivity issues in these logs too, my guess is something around using ipv6

well i find it funny a connectivity issue could freeze the entire game. Anyways i tried running it offline and it still the same
the problem is that the logs doesnt provide any useful ideas on why it freeze

you cant it phones home to report anti tamper stuff 🙃 you have to play it online iirc
it looks like a connection issue .. its spamming network stuff so you likely need to probably be using ipv4..

i think im running ipv4 the whole time not ipv6

what does nvidia-smi report
looks like that should be fine tho
you can probably enable vkd3d
i'd remove the launch args
also since you arent in a flatpak make sure to get the wine dependencies
Install Wine Dependencies by following this guide
If this does not immediately resolve your issue, you might also have to delete your Wineprefix (by default it's in
~/Games/Heroic/Prefixes/default/<game name>)

Go to game settings 2. Uncheck all DXVK and VK3D related settings 3. Clear your wine prefixes for FM by deleting your prefix folder 4. Run the game again

careful with this.. deleting your wine prefix too many times will trigger the denuvo lockout, and you wont be able to play for 24 hours

yes and also dont be surprised with the performance since it doesnt use dxvk or NV API. I think this problem is exclusive to NVIDIA

i've had no issues on amd or nvidia gpus with this one

yes maybe because i used an aging NVIDIA card that maybe cannot do well with DXVK and the Intel integrated is not even has complete vulkan support

you should be able to remove dxvk/vkd3d etc without clearing the prefix if you use wine-ge
