change the prefix directory from
/var/home/malix/Games/Heroic/Prefixes/default
to
/var/home/malix/Games/Heroic/Prefixes/Beholder2
there may be something in the default prefix that's messing with your game

This is a native game, Wineprefix doesn't matter

yep, you're totally right

Anyways, you're probably better off installing the Windows version of the game and running that through Wine

ah? wouldn't it be more performant if use the sh instead? i could technically just reuse the desktop entry file

it may be more performant, but it will almost certainly be more stable and consistent if you use the windows version

Not really, there are games where the native version actually runs worse The important part is that the Windows version won't depend on years-out-of-date libraries used whenever the Linux build got created

i didn't know that linux native games usually are not well packaged i mean in that case it's not even packaged at all i'll try the win version and report back seems to run way better but i didn't really set the native properly so it's to take with a huge grain of salt

yeah good rule of thumb: game devs dont work on their games passed a year or two out, after that the game is basically on its own. (unless its live service) they no longer get updates for new lib dependencies in linux and other things.. and the linux build may have been inferior out the gate anyway.. The best option is to play the windows version.. and as noted its not really any worse perf wise.. hilariously windows games in linux often perform better than they do in native windows
