The game starts out fine. Opening videos etc. Navigate through menus fine.
So I select adventure, I go through the player skins you can choose, but there is no option to continue. If I hit escape key or hit that same button most of the game locks up. I can no longer change the skin but it does not take me back. The cursor remains and hovering over the escape button option still triggers it's animation. One time it eventually took me back to the previous menu after a long wait and many esc key and button presses but that doesn't help me play.
Even if I don't choose a adventure skin, I still can't get back to the previous menu.

have you seen footage of there being some sort of button? when you press escape, what happens?

those are all ancient, though. i would think that in the 10+ years since most of these have been written it would have been fixed or a fix would have been found?

Do I have to independently install Umu and then with that box checked it uses Umu installed even though I'm using Heroic?

heroic installs umu as needed

also, I'm curious, have you tried the game with lutris for example using the official gog galaxy client? maybe gogdl is missing something with the setup instructions and that makes it fail
since one of the steam threads mentions that the user reinstalled the game and it got fixed I'm thinking maybe there's something gogdl or heroic is doing wrong

It doesn't seem like Heroic puts all the game files in one place, maybe because of flatpak? Also take me to where the game is option doesn't work. First it shows that address I showed. But also it doesn't take you there, it opens home

heroic should put the game files in
Games/Heroic/Spelunky, the prefix in Games/Heroic/prefixes/... and some internal files in the heroic config dir, not sure what you are seeing in other placesoptimistic-goldOP•11mo ago

Something weird happened. When I uploaded the script I dragged it over to discord running in browser which seems to have removed the script from the folder. I ran the game anyway, hoping it might recreate the script or who knows. The game is now working. It seems the answer was to delete that Gog script

I am so confused, I see the script there now again, saying the same thing as before. Could it have recreated the script when I ran the game eventually? Not sure what happened, but it's working now

Your computer aura does 5 damage per second to uncooperative windows games within 5 meters of you. Too bad that it seems some games are immune
