Migration to old library post reinstalling OS
I recently got my raspberry pi OS corrupted due to power outage, luckily all my images were stored on USB HDD.
Post reinstalling the OS, I reinstalled my immich with
.env
file still pointing to my old library folder in the drive. The installation was success, however, post login into the system, I cannot seem to see my old photos which are present on the hard disk.
Has anyone faced this issue and was there a solution to this?6 Replies

If this ticket can be closed you can use the /close
command, and re-open it later if needed.Do you still have the postgres data folder as well?
I don't think so, because i had installed the docker part in the memory card. Makes me wonder if I could have done the docker conf and env in the HDD itself ?
If you don’t have the database you need to re upload all the pictures, or use an external library
And yes, you can use the hard drive for the database as well
Honestly still doing trial and error, so had uploaded only 5 photos before the OS got corrupted. But that does give me a sence of what all can happen here
there should be nightly database backups in the backups folder
