Storage Template Migration with External Library

Hi, is there a way to get this to work? My setup just has my photos on an external USB HDD. I've got this added as an external library but the store migration tool doesn't affect this. Also the total storage shown for my user doesn't include this even though it's my main storage for photos. I'm wondering if I've set this up wrong?
