Avernum Game not launching
Good afternoon,
Game issue: I am trying to launch this game but nothing happens. I collected the log but I am not sure how to attach it. https://0x0.st/8ztE.log
What can I do to launch this game? I am working with a Chromebook.

While Heroic supports the Linux operating system, the "Linux development environment" included in ChromeOS is not supported.
The Linux environment runs inside a virtual machine without GPU acceleration, which is a critical feature to run any games at all. Heroic itself will run, but games won't.

Darn! I was able to get FTL to run through Heroic. Avernum is not a graphic intensive game. It is mostly text based RPG from early 2000. Any chance it can be tweaked to work?

its not that its a headache, its that chromebooks run linux in a virtual machine which by nature doesnt have GPU acceleration. This severely limits the capabilities of any gaming layer like wine/proton to be able to run any kind of game, since all games, even 2d ones, need the gpu... so if it runs it may run like garbage 😄
