Gamemode no display
Running games via desktop works fine, they load into the game menus with audio.
Running the same games in gamemode, will display a continuous steam loading menu while ALSO playing the game menu audio, it just never loads the display.
I am currently using ULWGL-proton-8.0-5-3 but have also tried with proton experimental to the same results.
It is also not a specific game as i have done this same process with another bunch of games from various stores (gog, epic, amazon & custom games)
Here is the list i have tried so far with the same results:
Graveyard keeper (custom)
Control (epic)
Death Stranding (epic)
hell is other demons (epic)
star wars (epic)
oxygen not included (custom)
red dead redemption (custom)
sonic mania (epic)
tales of the neon sea (amazon)

here is the log file from control
it does show some errors but it DOES run fine as i said in desktop mode, just not gaming

please do the following, run the game, and submit a new log:
remove the environment variable for dx11
download proton-ge from Heroic's wine manager and change to it
turn on UMU
add these environment variables:
WINEDEBUG=+fixme
DXVK_LOG_LEVEL=info
VKD3D_DEBUG=fixme
also turn off the following options:
use steam runtime
eac
battleye
gamemode
some of this is for clarity, but the use steam runtime one absolutely should be off

okay i applied these changes to every instance and that seems to have fixed it, they all load from game-mode as expected.

excuse the ping, but will you swap to desktop mode and confirm if you have the following setting on in Settings -> Downloads?

Yes I do have this setting enabled via steam in desktop mode

It reimplements the same issue in gamemode. I can hear the game but it’s perpetually loading

fk me dude something just stopped working and now its even worse
Reinstalled, deleted all my prefixes, reimport all my library, loads fine in desktop, go to gamemode, no sound or video permanent loading
same issue on wine GE & proton GE
and to make it even worse, now 70% of my amazon library just doesnt even show up, relogged like 5 times
